San Diego Comic-Con kicks off later this week, and Aquaman director James Wan is still hard at work on the first trailer that’s confirmed to debut at the event.

“Working overtime to put the finishing touches for this coming week!!,” Wan said on Twitter, using the hashtag #SDCC2018. He shared a photo from the editing suite of what appears to be a king and a giant whale.

Wan has explained in the past that the reason why the Aquaman trailer is coming so late, when compared to other DC movie trailers, is because he wants the CGI to be as perfect as possible. It takes a lot of special effects to create an underwater world, and those things take time.

The first trailers for Aquaman and Shazam will premiere at the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation on Saturday, July 21st at San Diego Comic-Con. We’re also supposed to be getting a sneak peek at Wonder Woman 1984 from Gal Gadot. Who knows what other surprises Warner Bros. will have in store as well!

As always, Batman News will have the best coverage of everything DC from San Diego Comic-Con.
