The rumor was true! We had heard that Warner Bros. wanted Robert De Niro for a role in Joker, and now it’s official.
The Hollywood Reporter says that De Niro is currently in negotiations to join Joker. If cast, he would play a TV talk show host who is “somehow instrumental in the Joker’s origin.” The name of that host is rumored to be Murray Franklin.
Last week we learned that Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz is in talks to join Joker as well. The movie starts shooting in New York City in September, so expect even more casting news soon. Bruce Wayne’s dad, Thomas Wayne, is rumored to have a big role as well.
