Way back in December 2016 it was reported that Suicide Squad director David Ayer would be making a Gotham City Sirens movie. We haven’t really heard anything since then and it seemed like the project was dead with Margot Robbie moving on to a Birds of Prey movie for Harley Quinn, but perhaps things are about to pick up again.
Late Wednesday night, David Ayer posted a photo with “Gotham City Sirens” comic book writer (and Harley Quinn co-creator) Paul Dini. “Had a nice visit with Paul Dini,” Ayer captioned the photo on Twitter.
Perhaps the two became friends while Ayer was researching and making Suicide Squad and were just hanging out, but it’s also possible that he was meeting with Dini to talk about the Gotham City Sirens movie. Maybe it’s actually happening?
