We had heard that Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix would start shooting in September, and now we may know the exact start date.
According to Geeks WorldWide, production on Joker will begin on September 22nd in New York City. The site also reports that the movie appears to be targeting an R-rating because some smaller female roles include nudity.
Last week, The Hangover star Bryan Callen confirmed that he had joined Joker as a male stripper, so perhaps the female nudity will come in the form of female strippers.
We had heard rumors that Joker would take inspiration from “The Killing Joke” and The Joker would be a failed comedian in the movie. Geeks WorldWide goes on to speculate that some of the comedy clubs the Joker performs at will be at strip clubs, as is common for some real life comedians who are getting their start.
Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro. It’s scheduled for an October 4, 2019 release.
