Charles Roven has produced nearly every DC movie since Batman Begins, but his role in the DCEU was reduced after the backlash to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. While he still had influence, however, he was rumored to have someone in mind for the role of Green Lantern.

According to Revenge of the Fans editor-in-chief Mario-Francisco Robles, Mark Wahlberg is who Roven had in mind to play Green Lantern. This was likely back when Green Lantern Corps was being written by Man of Steel’s David Goyer, and when the movie had a 2020 release date. That project has been scrapped in favor of a new script that is being written by Geoff Johns.

Revenge of the Fans isn’t the most reliable source of news, so take this rumor with a grain of salt. But on a slow news day like today I thought it’d be fun to share and speculate over. Do you think Mark Wahlberg would make a good Green Lantern? Who do you want to see land the role? Let me know in the comments below.
