A female director (Patty Jenkins) was behind Wonder Woman, the most successful DCEU movie yet, and Warner Bros. is keen on keeping that going for the next movies about their other female superheroes.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. is looking to hire a female director for Supergirl, which we just learned was in development last week. In addition, scooper @DanielRPK says that they are also looking for a female director for Batgirl. Joss Whedon was originally going to write and direct that movie, but he dropped out earlier this year.
Margot Robbie’s “girl gang movie”, Birds of Prey, is also being directed by a female, Cathy Yan.
