Two days ago it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Deadline, the most reliable sources of movie news online, that Alec Baldwin had joined the cast of Joker as Thomas Wayne. Today, Baldwin announced that he’s left the project.
“I’m no longer doing that movie,” Baldwin told USA Today, citing “scheduling” issues as to why he was leaving Joker. “I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part,” he added.
Earlier today, Baldwin took to Twitter to back up that claim.
“Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque,” Baldwin said. “That is not happening. Not. Happening.”
