Henry Cavill is no longer Superman.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros. was trying to get Cavill to cameo in Shazam, but talks broke down due to contract issues. Warner Bros. is now closing the door on any other Superman appearances from Cavill.
Warner Bros. will now shift their focus to Supergirl, a movie we learned they were working on earlier this summer.
A source for The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros. is considering hitting the “reset” button on the DC Extended Universe, and plans to move in a different direction going forward.
Update: Henry Cavill’s manager, Dany Garcia, has responded to this news. She says a statement from Warner Bros. will come later today. Stay tuned…
Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. @wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today.
