As scheduled, Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix began shooting in New York City this week and today we have the first set photos!
Just Jared has our first look at Joaquin Phoenix in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan from earlier today. Phoenix can be seen in character laughing and interacting with a clown.

And speaking of Phoenix’s character, Joker director Todd Phillips has given us our first official look on Instagram. A rumor over the summer said that The Joker’s real name would be Arthur Fleck, and Phillips confirmed part of that today. “Arthur” is all he captioned the photo below.
