Warner Bros. loves ‘The Batman’ script by Matt Reeves, summer 2019 production is likely

Earlier this month, The Batman director Matt Reeves turned in his first draft of the script. It’s been a couple of weeks, and The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez has an update.

According to Gonzalez, Warner Bros. “loves” the script that Reeves has turned in for The Batman. He is still tweaking it a bit, but the hope is that the movie will be able to start production by next summer. This lines up with Reeves’ own comments, who said last month that he was hoping to start shooting by the spring or summer of 2019. Gonzalez also says that DC Films president Walter Hamada and his team are committed to getting Batman right.

Reeves’ script for The Batman reportedly focuses on a younger version of the Dark Knight. There have been a lot of rumors, but no concrete reports as to who may be the favorite for the role.
