Nicolas Cage loves Superman. So much so that he named his son Kal-El. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Cage’s love for the character was brought up, as well as the possibility of him playing Superman. Cage laughed off that suggestion, though he did seem much more interested in playing a villain.
“Oh, I think my Superman days are long gone,” Cage laughed, patting himself on his stomach. But then The Guardian suggested that he should play a villain, and they say his eyes lit up. “Oh, that would be GREAT! I’d make a great Lex Luthor!,” he replied.
Cage was actually cast as Superman in a canceled 1990s movie by Batman director Tim Burton. All these years later, could you see him as Lex Luthor? Let me know if you think he’d be a good choice in the comments below.
