A Barbie movie has been in development for years at Sony, with Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway both attached to star at different points. But after being stuck in “development hell” the project is now heading to Warner Bros., and some big names in the Warner Bros. and DC Comics family may be involved.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie is currently in talks to star in Barbie. She would also produce the movie via her LuckyChap Entertainment production company. As for the director? Warner Bros. would like Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins to direct Barbie, though THR notes that “substantive” talks between the two parties haven’t started yet.
