‘Joker’ production under investigation for mistreating extras on set

Earlier this week we got a lot of Joker set photos and videos of Joaquin Phoenix filming a scene at a subway station, but things got pretty nasty for the extras involved.

According to TMZ, the extras on the subway car were locked in for more than three hours and denied their required break after two hours of work. Some extras began banging on the door because they needed to go to the bathroom, but were still denied. That lead to some extras peeing on the tracks through the small spaces between the cars.

TMZ says that the Screen Actors Guild received a complaint about the break violation, and that a representative was sent to the Joker set to resolve the situation. SAG will continue to follow up and monitor the Joker set.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. told TMZ that they are aware of the situation and are looking into it.
