Rick Baker has been at the top of the special effects game for decades now, and someone at DC Collectibles realized he was the perfect person to realize the Joker. As the bust is just now being released, a new video has been released to show you exactly how awesome it is.
We had a chance to check it out at Toy Fair back in February, and it is just spectacular in person.
“When DC Collectibles approached me about this project, I jumped at the chance to do something with The Joker,” said Baker. “The Joker is one of the most notorious Super-Villains of all time, and I had a blast depicting his twisted and demented personality through this bust. The DC Collectibles team was great to work with and gave me complete creative freedom to bring my version of the character to life.”
The Rick Backer Joker Bust is being released in two editions.
- Ultimate Edition: Limited to only 50 pieces (numbered 1-50). Produced from Baker’s original molds, offering fans a version that is just one step removed from the Academy Award winner’s original creation. The bust showcases Baker’s original paint colors for The Joker’s shirt and vest. Each bust will contain a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Baker. MSRP: $1500.00
- Standard Edition: Limited to only 150 pieces (numbered 1-150). Features The Joker sporting an orange shirt and purple vest. MSRP: $1000.00
Not for those on a budget to be sure, but it would be a spectacular addition to anyone’s collection.
