Batman News has been acquired by TechnoBuffalo

In September of 2010, I started Batman News over Labor Day weekend to give fans the best place online to follow Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (back then it was still untitled and referred to as “Batman 3”). Over the years the site has expanded to cover all of DC, and I even started sister sites like Superhero News and Spider-Man News. Today, I’m excited to announce that all three of my superhero websites have been acquired by TechnoBuffalo.

TechnoBuffalo started as a popular YouTube channel before launching its own successful website in 2009. This past summer, it launched its first sister site, The Nerdy, to cover all things geek culture. Batman News, Superhero News, and Spider-Man News will remain separate websites with their own unique voices and coverage.

Many readers are surprised when they learn that Batman News has never been my full-time job. I’m a full-time software developer and recently celebrated my 10 year anniversary at my company. Over the last eight years I’ve spent the majority of my free time working on my websites, most days into the late hours of the night to make sure I didn’t miss any big stories. TechnoBuffalo taking over the sites will allow them to grow and cover topics that I was never able to on my own.

I want to thank everyone for all of the amazing support over the years. Batman News wouldn’t be where it is today without you. And even though I won’t be writing for the site every day anymore, I’ll still be around and interacting with you in the comments section under my new name, “ChrisLikesBatman”. If you’re a fan of the comic reviews, don’t worry, your favorite reviewers will continue contributing every week. I also have an open invitation from TechnoBuffalo to contribute articles whenever I’d like, and I plan on taking advantage of that.

I wish I could leave you all with a witty Batman quote, but I truly just want to say “thank you” one more time. And now, I turn it over to Jon Rettinger, President & Editorial Director at TechnoBuffalo, to share a few words of his own.

From Jon Rettinger

I have been a huge fan of the site for years and it’s an absolute pleasure to be here.

Since I could walk I’ve been a comic geek, living and breathing anything DC. My goal is to continue the amazing work Chris and his team have done. I don’t want to rock the boat. What you will see here is more content curated and authored by some of the best comic writers on the planet. That’s it. That’s the goal.

There is so much to be said about the world of DC and we want to be the site that tells it. I want this to be a simple and seamless transition, so smooth that things look the same to the audience.

If you have any thoughts, suggestions or feedback, the contact us page goes directly to my inbox. I want to hear from you. Let’s keep building something great together.
