DC Universe’s Swamp Thing is adding cast at a rapid pace lately. The newest addition is Academy Award nominee Virginia Madsen who will be playing Maria Sunderland.
In the comics Maria moved to the swamps when she married Avery Sunderland. While not perfectly suited for swamp life, she is struck with grief when Abby Arcane appears and reminds her of the loss of her own daughter sometime before.
As the cast for this series continues to grow, we still haven’t heard anything in regards to old Swampy himself. The other denizens of the swamp seem to be getting all the attention as of late.
DC Universe has provided no production timeline for the series as of yet, we just know that is on its way.
