Todd Phillips, director of the new stand-alone Joker movie has been amazingly open about sharing photos from production on his Instagram. In his most recent, we get a look at (presumably) Joaquin Phoenix taking a break on set. While there isn’t anything terribly new here, it does provide a different look at the makeup, which does not extend up to his hairline, and the green hair, which looks fairly similar at this angle to Heath Ledger’s incarnation.
In the caption, Phillips writes “On set. Five minute break.” and gives photo credit to cameraman Niki Tavernise.
Of all the DC movie in some stage of production right now, I’m most intrigued by this one. Every time a new Joker is portrayed there is bound to be increased scrutiny. Phoenix definitely has the acting chops to pull it off, let’s just hope Phillips vision will meet audiences expectations.
