Normally word that a film is extending its reshoots sends fear into fans’ hearts, but in this case it seems like it may be a very good thing for Shazam!.
Zachary Levi confirmed this week that additional photography had begun on Shazam!, but he didn’t comment on how long it would last. For most films it runs two to three weeks, but it appears something else is happening here.
According to a report from HN Entertainment, additional photography was originally slated to run from Nov. 1 to Nov. 18. Now sources are saying it has been extended all the way to Dec. 22. This is normally where it would be time to panic, but it seems this is actually a time to get excited.
According to the sources of the report, Warner Bros. is so happy with the film that it has greenlit additional budget to allow for even more shooting.
What is mildly intriguing is that the trailer showed the film is set in the holiday season, so you have to wonder if part of this is to take advantage of it actually being that season now.
We’re all for anything that makes a movie better, and if Warner Bros. has that much faith in the film, then we really can’t wait to see it!
Shazam! will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
