One of the biggest questions as we head towards the final season of Gotham is whether or not Bruce will become Batman. It seems that the answer is a simple, “Yes.”
Taking to his Twitter account on Thursday, Cameron Monaghan tweeted he was excited for J’s final appearance on Gotham.
FYI J's final appearance on #Gotham is vile, vicious, nightmare-fuel horror and is everything I love about this character. Stoked.

A user then responded asking if we would see “Batman” this season, and to everyone’s surprise, we got an answer.

The people behind the scenes at Gotham have played it coy over the years with the answer. Some have said we would, others said we wouldn’t. The show definitely has felt like it was moving in that direction, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
To be fair, Monaghan’s definition of “Batman” may differ from yours. It doesn’t have to necessarily mean Bruce (David Mazouz) in a cowl with pointy ears, but perhaps he mearly assumes the mantle sans costume.
We do hope it involves the full cowl, though. Who wouldn’t want to see that?
Gotham season 5 will premiere on Jan. 3, 2019.
