You know a film is close to production when the actors start teasing us with pictures of the script. Margot Robbie has done just that taking to her Instagram on Tuesday to post a picture of the cover of the script with what appears to be a few personal enhancements.
“Birds of Prey (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN)” may be a bit too long to fit on a theater marquee, but it’s intriguing none the less. With Robbie serving as a producer on this film, and this seeming to be the result of all of the Harley Quinn solo movie/Gotham City Sirens talk, it would be fitting for her to have the biggest story arc in the film.
With The Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) herself saying filming begins in January, it looks like things will be speeding up now. Joining Winstead and Robbie will Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary. Rosie Perez will be playing Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain as well. And Ewan McGregor joined the cast as Gotham City villain Black Mask.
Birds of Prey hits theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the actual title of the film is indeed, “Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).” We’ll just tell you now, we’ll be sticking with calling the film Birds of Prey, but man that is a title.
I've confirmed this is the real title and not just Robbie having fun with fans: Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) https://t.co/YwFKLztTCJ
