The internet has only known about Warner Bros.’ plans to make a Plastic Man movie for a couple hours, but evidently, there’s already a line for the starring role. It starts with Ben Schwartz.
Best known as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks and Recreation, Schwartz threw his name in the hat on Twitter.
I’ll start stretching now just in case. https://t.co/F6GvPhmTxT

Historically, making an unsolicited declaration of interest in a comic book movie role is a good way to remove oneself from contention. In this case, however, we can hope that Warner Bros. won’t hold this against Schwartz, as he’s perfect for the role.
Aside from resembling the character, Schwartz was within reach of Plastic Man as Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Rec. If you’re not familiar, just know the character had to wear ankle monitors on both legs and is a question on the Bar Exam. Plastic Man is known for his humor in addition to his on-again, off-again relationship with the law.
Schwartz, who was also a regular on House of Lies, would be an ideal fit for the role, as the character has been presented in the source material and in animation. Until the script is in and a director is hired, however, it’s difficult to know if he’ll be what Warner Bros. and DC Films are looking for in the cinematic iteration of the character.
