It seems that the cast for Birds of Prey has gathered for what one would guess is the first table read of the script.
Ella Basco, who will be playing Cassandra Cain, took to her Twitter account on Friday evening to share her excitement about the beginning of the filmmaking process.

To be fair, Basco did not confirm it was the first table read. We are making assumptions here. We do feel confident in the fact it is the first based on the level of excitement.
As was recently revealed, the film’s full title is Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), but it will continue to be known just as Birds of Prey for the sake of simplicity.
Joining Basco in the cast will be Margot Robbie returning as Harley Quinn, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be taking on The Huntress. Jurnee Smollett-Bell signed on as Black Canary and Rosie Perez will be playing Renee Montoya. Wrapping up the big names, we’ll see Ewan McGregor as Gotham City villain Black Mask. Filming is expected to kick off in January.
Birds of Prey hits theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
Correction: A previous version of this post said that Basco didn’t mention ‘table read’ when she clearly did.
