Birds of Prey is seeing a lot of activity at the moment. Earlier came word of Chris Messina is playing Victor Zsasz and now stand-up comic Ali Wong is coming on board as well.
According to sources speaking with The Wrap, Ali Wong has joined the cast of Birds of Prey, but is not yet known in what role. With the way this cast is filling up, and pulling it seems from all over the history of DC, she could be just about anyone. At this time the report indicates that she will be playing an associate of Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), so she may just be another member of the GCPD and not anyone in particular that we know from the books.
The cast recently gathered for a table read, and production is expected to begin in January.
The cast of this film just continues to grow. Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn, and she is being joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as The Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. And Ewan McGregor joined the cast as Gotham City villain Black Mask.
Birds of Prey opens on Feb. 7, 2020.
