Brian Stapf Joins Stargirl in the Role of Wildcat

It would seem that DC Universe is aiming to build the Justice Society of America for its Stargirl series, and we’re perfectly happy with that.

Hot on the heels of the news that Joel McHale is playing Starman in the Stargirl series, now we know who will be playing Wildcat. According to an exlusive report from TV Insider, Brian Stapf (The Purge, Valor) will be taking on the role of Ted Grant, AKA Wildcat.

First appearing in Sensation Comics #1, Wildcat was co-created by Bill Finger and Irwin Hasen. The character would go on to be a key member of the Justice Society of America, a precursor to the Justice League of America. We saw a version of the character on Arrow where Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez) trained Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) to fight.

Stargirl is being executive produces by Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. Once completed, the series will be shown on DC Universe in the U.S., but no word as of yet on the foreign outlets for the series.
