The size of the cast for Stargirl grew by three on Thursday as DC Universe started casting the Injustice Society. At this rate, this series is going to have the biggest cast by far.
According to Deadline Joy Osmanski was cast as Tigress, Neil Hopkins as Sportsmaster, and Nelson Lee will be playing Dragon King. The Injustice Society dates back to 1947, and as you would imagine they are the arch-enemies of the Justice Society of America. That was where the casting focused last week, so it seems this week we’re turning towards who they will be fighting.
Each character received a short description:
- Tigress – “Protecting and providing for her family, Paula Brooks hunts the world’s most dangerous game – humans – as the Tigress.”
- Sportsmaster – “He sees his criminal pursuits as a game to win — and his competitors as targets to kill. The only thing more important to Crock than ‘the game’ is his family.”
- Dragon King – “a deadly and mysterious hooded man…this controversial scientist has been experimenting on himself and his victims since the 1940s.”
Stargirl is currently rumored to premiere on DC Universe on Aug. 9, 2019, but we’ll see if that ends up being the official date. Our interest in this series is growing rapidly as the cast continues to grow and adds characters we could have only ever dreamed of seeing in live-action.
