Aquaman is now the second-highest grossing movie in the current DC Films era. James Wan’s oceanic adventure passed Wonder Woman ($821.8M) at the global box office yesterday. Aquaman has earned $822M globally with its sights set on topping Batman v Superman ($873.6M) next.

The domestic box office continues to favor Aquaman. The film earned $16.8M yesterday, raising its total in North America to $216M. It will begin its climb up the DCEU domestic charts by topping Justice League ($229M) later this week.

China remains the biggest market for Aquaman. The only superhero film to top Aquaman‘s $275M total in the Middle Kingdom is Avengers: Infinity War ($359.5M).

Aquaman will continue playing in China into February and faces little competition in North America until Glass opens on January 18. It’s a virtual lock to top $900M globally and remains in the hunt to be DC’s first billion-dollar-movie since The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.
