Margot Robbie decided to kick off our Monday on a high note by releasing the first image of Harley Quinn from the set of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
First up, the image itself.

There’s a few things to discern from this. The big one had been a rumor that Harley would be free of tattoos in this film, but that is clearly not the case as three of them are visible.
It appears she is sitting on a wooden floor and from the afghan she is resting her head against we’re thinking she’s in some sort of bedroom.
The big question mark is the dog tag on the tangle of necklaces she is wearing says “Bruce.” We highly doubt that Harley has somehow discerned Batman’s secret identity, but it’s an intriguing nod none the less.
We’re not quite sure why one of the strands in what appears to be a pom-pom says “cheekysneakypeeky” unless that is a nod to the image itself.
Clearly, the outfit differs from the “Daddy’s Lil Monster” outfit in Suicide Squad. While we can’t see the entire outfit, we can’t help but think the roller skates we saw Robbie training in shortly before filming began would match well with this ensemble. It also appears she’s wearing some form of clear raincoat over her clothes, but that’s probably just part of Harley’s kooky fashion sense.
It’s worth noting that even though this is still clearly a crazy version of Harley, she looks more “put together” than she did in Suicide Squad. Her makeup is evenly applied, her hair is well-kept even down to the blue dye job of the one pigtail we can see. She doesn’t look as frazzled as she did in her last appearance. Costuming is always an extension of the character if done correctly, and this would seem to be a bit more focused Harley judging by the clothes.
There’s a lot to take in in such a simple image, we’re sure to be studying it for days. Hopefully, images of other cast members aren’t far behind.
