With the announcements this week of The Batman, The Suicide Squad, and DC Super Pets, it’s time to take a new look at the upcoming slate of confirmed DC movie release dates. It’s beginning to feel like you need a scorecard to keep track of all the new dates, and that’s what we’re here to do.
Here are the confirmed dates as they stand now. It should be noted release dates can change at any time from a few weeks to months.
- Shazam! – April 5, 2019
- Joker – October 4, 2019
- Birds of Prey – February 7, 2020
- Wonder Woman 1984 – June 5, 2020
- DC Super Pets – May 21, 2021
- The Batman – June 25, 2021
- The Suicide Squad – August 6, 2021
It seems that Warner Bros. wants to get back into the DC film game in a big way, and three films in 2021 seems super ambitious at the moment. With 28 months, 29 months, and 31 months to go respectively on those three, it is quite doable, and we’re hopeful all of them make those dates. We need more DC on the big screen!
As to films without set release dates yet, those include:
- Aquaman 2
- Batgirl
- Black Adam
- Blue Beetle
- Cyborg
- The Flash
- Gotham City Sirens
- Green Lantern Corps
- New Gods
- Nightwing
- Plastic Man
- Supergirl
- Teen Titans GO! Vs. Teen Titans
Of these films, Aquaman 2 and New Gods currently seem the most likely to happen. The others we keep hearing promises about, but still don’t seem to be getting any closer.
Which films are you most anxious to see?
Correction: An earlier version of this post was missing Joker from the dated films and a few of the unannounced. It has been corrected.
