In a surprise announcement on Wednesday, it was announced that an animated movie of Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is on the way. The film will be a co-production between Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment, and Nickelodeon.
As you might expect, the film will be based on Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles miniseries. Thanks to a transdimensional encounter, the Turtles will not only meet Batman, but will team up with him to take on some of the biggest names in his Rogue’s Gallery.
For an event this big, some big named actors are being called on to handle the vocal chores.
- Batman – Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham Origins)
- Joker – Troy Baker (yes, you read that right)
- Raphael – Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story)
- Michelangelo – Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live)
- Donatello – Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie)
- Leonardo – Eric Bauza (The Woody Woodpecker Show)
- Batgirl – Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)
- The Penguin – Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants)
- Mr. Freeze – John DiMaggio (Adventure Time)
- Harley Quinn – Tara Strong (The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans)
- Poison Ivy – Tara Strong
- Bane – Carlos Alazraqui (Reno 911!)
- Ra’s al Ghul – Cas Anvar (The Expanse)
Troy Baker will mark the first time an actor has tackled both roles in the same production. If anyone can do it, it’s probably him.
An exact release date has not yet been announced, but Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive on 4K, Blu-ray, and Digital in late spring.
