Aquaman 2 has a release date, and it’s definitely a ways off. Mark your calendars for Dec. 16, 2022.

We knew movement was under on the film when we heard David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick was onboard to work on the script. We just didn’t think we were going to have to wait nearly four years for a return to Atlantis. This may also give us a clue to the idea behind The Trench film as it would be a way to keep the franchise alive with audiences between the main films.

We still aren’t certain James Wan will return to the director’s chair, but he has said if the script is great he would come back.

While four years may seem like an eternity, it was the same amount of time between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. We’ve done it before, we can do it again. We just might tap our foot every so often and look at your watches some.

At least the first film is about to hit home video.
