Black Adam script reportedly features additional DC heroes

Black Adam - 01

Despite nearly two years passing since the original announcement that Dwayne Johnson would star in a Black Adam movie, it seems the film is indeed still in the works.

According to a new report from That Hashtag Show, Adam Szytkiel turned in a new copy of the script at the end of February, and there are a few big name DC heroes popping up in it. The big one is that supposedly Carter Hall, yes, Hawkman, is in the current draft of the script. Reportedly it calls for someone between the ages of 30 to 39.

Beyond Hawkman, howver, two other JSA members are currently in the script in the form of Stargirl and Atom Smasher. The script calls for the casting of these two to be between 20 and 29. These two characters have been romantically incolced in the comics before, so this may be the idea here as well.

This new report fits in nicely with some hints Johnson dropped about the script last summer. “Without giving anything away, there might be maybe a cameo or two of some of the other DC superheroes,” said Johnson. “We’ll see. That’s been the beauty of Black Adam as we’ve been developing it is that we could make a movie that just stood on its own too as well, but that’s also the beauty of those universes coming together at DC.”

Currently, Black Adam is tenatively set to begin filming in March 2020.
