Since its announcement a few months back, Tom Taylor’s DCeased has become one of the most highly anticipated series of 2019. I mean, sure, you could look at it as “just another zombie story,” but this is from the guy who wrote Injustice. That could have been “just another video game tie-in,” yet he turned it into one of the most gripping and heartfelt series of the past few years. Plus, he gave Lobo a Green Lantern ring, so it’s just a matter of time until he makes it into the Eisner Hall of Fame.
While the first issue of DCeased is still a few weeks out, DC Comics have provided a first look at the first issue. Check it out in the gallery below, along with a ton of variant covers for the first three issues. Dig those horror movie poster variants.
DCeased #1 will hit comic shops and digital retailers on May 1. Written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Trevor Hairsine and Stefano Gaudiano, the series sees Darkseid release a technological virus that turns its victims into the undead, causing DC’s greatest heroes to band together against a possibly unbeatable enemy.
