Birds of Prey films some action and car scenes over the weekend

Birds of Prey should be wrapping filming soon, but for now it’s more car work followed up by a stunt.

First up, Margot Robbie and Ella Jay Basco appear to be spending a lot of time in that gold car.

Additional photos have appeared of Robbie in this outfit. It’s unclear if she was just hanging out in front of this jewelry shop between takes, or if this was actually being filmed as no cameras are visible. What we can see, however, is her top is red an black, so there is some of the classic Harley look happening.

And a few more.

Then the next day it was time for Robbie and Basco to pile into a blue car with mattresses strapped to the roof. These were apparently shot the next day, and judging by Harley’s look, we’re going to guess this may be from earlier in the film as she clearly does not look as put together.

Finally, Essence Perfumes, a store in Los Angeles caught a quick video of a stunt double for Margot Robbie rehearsing an interesting maneuver through a food truck.

With filming set to wrap in the next few weeks, it will then be on to post-production. With the timing of when things are wrapping up, and about 10 months to release, if we were to put money on it, Comic-Con is seeming like a good a spot as any for the first trailer. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be the first appearance of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn since Suicide Squad. She will be joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the Huntress, while Jurnee Smollett-Bell will be playing Black Canary. Rosie Perez will be playing Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain as well. And Ewan McGregor joined the cast as Gotham City villain Black Mask. Ali Wong has even joined the cast in an unknown role.

The Birds of Prey movie will hit theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
