Beth Mickle joins the Suicide Squad as production designer

James Gunn continues to assemble his production team to work on the upcoming The Suicide Squad. The latest to join the film is Beth Mickle as production designer.

Mickle has an excellent track record with films such as Drive and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot on her resume. She was also scheduled to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Gunn before he was let go by Marvel Studios. Seeing as that film is now back on the docket, she may join him there again.

According to the report from HN Entertainment, Mickle was also attached to the The Flash film at one stage, so she has been circling around the DCEU for some time now.

With Gunn currently working on his storyboards, one imagines Mickle will be busy pretty soon.

Currently casting is taking place for The Suicide Squad with the latest rumor being that John Cena is in talks to play Peacemaker. Beyond him, there are quite a few returning cast members.Margot Robbie has been rumored for ages to be back as Harley Quinn. Jai Courtney has been talking up his return as Captain Boomerang this past week. And we’re hearing Viola Davis is coming back as Amanda Waller. And there is even some talk of Joel Kinnaman returning as Flagg.

The only confirmed new cast member it seems is we’ve been hearing about is Idris Elba. Originally he was said to be playing Deadshot, but that has now changed.

There is a rumored list of new characters coming to the film that has been floating around since mid-March, and now it’s beginning to sound more and more as though it may be a mixing of teams.

The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
