The first Watchmen trailer has finally arrived from HBO, and it appears it is a very different world.
HBO has been keeping a tight lid on its upcoming Watchmen series from Damon Lindelof. There have only been a few images and fleeting Instagram videos released, but now we’re getting a full look at the series.
We’ll be up front, we have no idea what is going on, but isn’t that how you felt the first time you read Watchmen?
The idea of Rorschach as a movement makes a lot of sense. If his diary did indeed make it out into the world, it’s easy to imagine people taking it up as a manifesto.
We’re super curious as to why it looks as though Ozymandias (Jeremy Irons) is riding by the Black Freighter flag on a scythe. That seems to be an odd combination.
One thing seems certain, if it’s titled “Watchmen” in any way, there has to be a countdown to doomsday, and that doesn’t appear to have changed.
What doesn’t make sense, and may end up being the driving force to make us watch this series is: What’s up with Panda Cop?
We need to know his story.
Watchmen will debut on HBO this fall.
