Jason Momoa starts talking Aquaman 2

Aquaman 2 may not be due to hit theaters until Dec. 2022, but it appears that Jason Momoa doesn’t think it’s too early to start promoting it.

Appearing on The Ellen Show, Momoa talked his upcoming water product as well as some of his fashion choices. Then it was time to get down to the serious business of promoting Aquaman 2. Yes, we think it’s a tad early as well, but we won’t complain.

It’s no surprise that the beard will be back. He shaved it off for his role as Duncan Idaho in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, and he certainly has enough time to regrow it. We do, however, like some of the new suggested beards. The one with the ocotpus motif seems quite fitting.

What is a bit confusing in this interview is his mention of “two years.” Does he mean that’s when it will be filming, or is he possibly confused about the dates? We’re still hearing Dec. 16, 2022 for the time being, and moving up a year or more for release just seems unrealistic. So we’re going to land on the side of he simply misspoke.

It is encouraging, however, to hear that the story is already locked. Let the speculation begin as to what it may be. We’ve already heard one rumor that it may involve The Others, so that appears to be floating around there in the ether.

For now we’ll just have to allow our imaginations run wild for what Aquaman 2 will deal with, as well as what in the world The Trench movie will be about.

Aquaman 2 is due to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2022.
