Themed 5K runs have been happening for some time now, and the newest one will be the Batman Run Series.
This Sept. 21, you and your fellow Batman fans and running enthusiasts are going to get a special treat. To help celebrate Batman’s 80th anniversary, there is going to be a Batman-themed 5K run in Los Angeles. This special run will kickoff at 5:30pm in front of the LA Courthouse. While the location may not seem that special at first, it will be the fact that the Bat-Signal will be projected on the building that will make it so. As this will also serve as both your start and finish line, you will get a chance to see it both as you begin and finish your run.
The price is $49 to register through June 1, and then the price will go up. For that entry fee you will receive a finisher’s medal, a bib number, a race shirt, free race photo & video, and runner snacks.
While we’re sure many people will try it, do remember, most of the available Batman masks don’t breath super well, so be prepared to stay hydrated through out your run. We would recommend something more with an open back to it with an elastic band to keep it in place. Also, think about your fellow runners while picking a cape to wear. If it’s too long it could flap with the air and hit them in the faces.
We know, Batman doesn’t consider these things, but you’re also not Batman… or are you?
You can head over to DCBatmanRun.com to register for the race. There will also be official merchandise for the event, but the online store is not yet open.
