Rumors drop as to the potential villains for Matt Reeves’ The Batman

It has been a heck of a week when it comes to rumors for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Hot on the heels of the Robert Pattinson rumor – which it does appear he is the frontrunner – comes some information on the possible villains of the film.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the long-gestating rumor of the Penguin being in the film still holds true. It won’t stop there, however, with at least one source saying there will be up to half-a-dozen villains. The only other member of the Rogues Gallery that is heavily implied, however, is Catwoman.

Of course, everyone remembers the last time we saw these two Rogues on the big screen together was 1992’s Batman Returns. There’s no question that they can appear in a film together again, but with the number of enemies that Batman has you would hope the combinations could be shaken up a bit more.

it has long been rumored that Reeves script would be more noir than other Batman stories and would focus more highly on him doing detective work. This could lead to many short visits with various members of the Rogues Gallery than them having large set pieces to deal with.

Reeves is said to still be tweaking the script, so we suggest that you take nothing as being written in stone at this time.

The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
