Zachary Levi would be open to playing Black Adam

Zachary Levi appeared at MegaCon in Orlando this past weekend, and during his Q&A panel, he was asked an intriguing question that leaves you to ponder choices a bit.

A con-goer asked Levi now that he has played a hero in both the MCU and the DCEU, what villain would he like to play in both. For Marvel he said Deadpool – but he knows why that won’t happen – but for DCEU, after some thought, he said Black Adam.

“For a minute, I thought if The Rock was ever like, ‘You know what? I’m too busy and I’m not gonna play Black Adam,’” he said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘You know what I could do?… They’re supposed to be twinsies anyway, just different stylists. That could be kind of cool. You know, cause I’d get to play the really dark version of myself essentially.”

You can check out the answer in the video of the session.

While it is highly doubtful this will ever happen, it would also put an end to the debate about the size difference between the two actors. More than a few fans have wondered how Levi’s Shazam is supposed to be able to take on a Black Adam that is the size of Dwayne Johnson.

Again, we want to stress this isn’t some sort of hint to a switch in plans from Warner Bros., just a fun question and answer that makes a lot of sense. And we can’t wait to see Johnson put on the black suit and throw Levi around for a bit.

According to Johnson, Black Adam is supposed to begin filming within a year.
