When the Batwoman series launches in the fall on The CW, don’t just immediately assume you know everything about Alice and the Wonderland Gang.
Speaking with TVLine recently, Rachel Skarsten revealed some details about what we can expect from her version of Alice. “She is the big bad of the show, she plays the main antagonist,” said Skarsten “She has a very complex relationship with Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, and she sort of teeters between sane and completely insane — which is really fun.”
Alice has a bigger beef with someone than she does with Batwoman. “I think at this point she has an ax to grind with another character in the show who I can’t say, but it will be revealed. So I think she has this sort of personal vendetta against that character, and then, of course, she also wants to just run Gotham and bring mayhem wherever she goes.”
There are going to be numerous characters in the Batwoman series, so the choice of who her vendetta could be with is a large one. However, depending on how closely the TV adaptation follows the comics, it’s not too difficult to figure out who that person may be.
In the comics, Kate Kane and Alice – really named Beth – are twin sisters, so there’s a good chance her issues would be with their father. But if The CW has changed the story at all, then it could be literally anyone on the series.
Batwoman is scheduled to join The CW’s Sunday night lineup this fall and will air at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central.
