Supergirl movie reportedly eyeing early 2020 filming date

A new report says that The Batman won’t be the only DC film going in front of the cameras in early 2020. According to a new report from Forbes, there is finally some movement on the Supergirl movie and it could begin filming as early as the first quarter of 2020.

Aug. 2018 was when the first rumors of a new Supergirl movie started to pop up, and that was quickly followed up by word Warner Bros. was hunting for a female director. Since then everything has been pretty been fairly quiet on the project with most of the attention being on The Batman.

Now with Pattinson apparently securing the role, attention can return to some of the other DC projects that are in the works.

The new info from Forbes was light on details, and just added beyond the date that some casting information should begin to circulate in the coming months. There have been no rumors as of yet who may be up for the part of the daughter of Krypton.

While there is a weekly Supergirl series on The CW, there hasn’t been a film version of the character since the film in 1984 starring Helen Slater. Is it time for her to fly back into cinemas? We’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out and who is picked for all of the key roles in front of and behind the camera.
