Warner Bros. skipping Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2019

Warner Bros. is going to skip a Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. While the studio will be in attendance, as will DC, there will be no gigantic presentation for all of its upcoming movies.

It was revealed on Wednesday that It Chapter 2 will appear at ScareDiego at Comic-Con, and it was then that Erik Davis of Fandango revealed the Warner Bros. info. “Also of note: This will be WB’s only major panel presence at #SDCC this year for its movies. No Hall H for the studio.”

He went on to add some clarification later that just because Warner Bros. won’t be appearing in Hall H it doesn’t mean the studio won’t have a large presence at the convention. “For the first time, the DC booth will stand shoulder to shoulder with parent company Warner Bros.’ booth, bringing together two powerhouse brands and creating a new super-sized space that will provide the ultimate con experience.”

This is a bit of a surprise to say the least with so many films on the horizon for Warner Bros. Joker is hitting theaters in Oct., and Birds of Prey will be behind it in Feb. 2020. This is also not to mention that Wonder Woman 1984 is due June 5, 2020.

It seems odd that Warner Bros. would want to miss this promotional opportunity. However, we have seen more and more studio also turning to New York Comic-Con in the fall to run similar promotional events. Perhaps the studio wants to wait until then so it has more of a chance to keep the spotlight to itself.

For now we can only speculate as to why Warner Bros. would be skipping a Hall H presentation. We just know that it potentially kills some dreams we had for some new trailers. While new trailers will come no matter what, it’s just a bit more nebulous now as to when they will appear.
