Diamond Select has been slowly releasing some DC Comics-based Gallery statues since last year’s Toy Fair. I’ve taken a look at Superman and Aquaman, and now we have the Flash.
I would rank this one with Superman, in that it looks very good from certain angles, but from others, there’s just something about the anatomy that feels off. It’s still an excellent piece, but it’s not quite as good as Aquaman.
Another interesting detail: this is the first Gallery I’ve seen that has obvious evidence of modular body construction. The benefit of this is that most of the paint lines are super clean, because the paint was applied prior to assembly. The downside is that you can see seams in certain locations where you wouldn’t on a single, molded piece.
If the seams aren’t a problem for you, and you don’t mind the little bit of extra attention needed to get a good viewing angle, then this is a great buy. It’s in stores now, so head to your local or find it online.
