It would seem that Syfy is pretty happy with Lobo in his recurring role on Krypton season 2 as the network is looking into giving him his own series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Syfy is looking at the possibility of a Lobo series following up on his recurring status in season 2 of Krypton. Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays him currently, would play him int he pilot and the series should it get picked up.
A Lobo movie has been in talks for what seems like ages, and apparently, this does not preclude the Main Man from showing up there as well. Reportedly, talks have happened with Michael Bay to direct the film version, but it’s unknown what stage of development that project is in currently.
Could Lobo work as the focus of a television series? It’s hard to say. As a guest star it makes sense, but our TV audiences ready for a crazed intergalactic bounty hunter? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Krypton season 2 is currently airing on Syfy.
