Stargirl series reportedly adds two more characters

Young Justice - Characters - Artemis - 01

The number of costumed characters appearing in DC Universe’s Stargirl is growing to an amazing number. It seems two more costumed characters are on the way.

We’ve known for some time that Stella Smith was in Stargirl, but what we didn’t know was who she would be playing. According to a report from Full Circle Cinema, Smith will be playing fan-favorite Young Justice archer, Artemis.

In the comics, Artemis is the daughter of the villain Sportsmaster, who it was announced in Dec. 2018 would be appearing in the series. The idea that his daughter may be along for the ride is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

The second report gives us an idea who Hunter Sansone will be playing in the series.

It was previously known that Sansone would be in the series, but his role was unknown. Now, according to Full Circle Cinema, he will be playing Icicle Jr. The son of the original Icicle, Cameron Mahkent was born with metahuman abilities that gave him ice powers. Like Artemis, he was also a popular character on Young Justice.

Stargirl is shaping up to be what looks like an interesting series mixing both old and new characters. Luke Wilson grabbed the role of Pat Dugan, aka Stripe, while other casting announcements have included Joel McHale as Starman, Brian Stapf will be suiting up as Wildcat, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. is Hourman. And Stargirl/Courtney will be getting some friends and family Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman and Jake Austin Walker in an unknown role, and Amy Smart was announced as Courtney’s mom, Barbara.

Stargirl has yet to receive an official premiere date, but recent reports have pointed towards a debut in 2020.
