Lea Thompson has announced that she has wrapped directing an episode of DC Universe’s Stargirl.
Best known to many as Lorraine Baines McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy – or as Beverly Switzler in Howard the Duck – Thompson has been making a name for herself as a director for some time now. She has been mainly working in the world of sitcoms with several episodes of The Goldbergs to her name, as well as some work on Mom and Schooled.
Thompson just wrapped production on an episode of Stargirl and took to Instagram to share a few behind the scenes photos.
She previously had shared a few additional photos with the cast and crew of her episode.
It appears that Thompson directed episode seven of season 1, so work has passed the halfway point for these first 13 episodes.
Stargirl is shaping up to be what looks like an interesting series mixing both old and new characters. Luke Wilson grabbed the role of Pat Dugan, aka Stripe, while other casting announcements have included Joel McHale as Starman, Brian Stapf will be suiting up as Wildcat, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. is Hourman. And Stargirl/Courtney will be getting some friends and family Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman and Jake Austin Walker in an unknown role, and Amy Smart was announced as Courtney’s mom, Barbara. Meanwhile, it appears that Stella Smith will be playing Artemis, and Hunter Sansone will be Icicle Jr.
This is going to be one very crowded series it seems.
Originally it was believed that Stargirl would debut in August on the streaming service, but all of the latest discussions seem to be pointing to a debut sometime in 2020.
