As we all anxiously await word on whether or not we will get a second season of Doom Patrol, we now know when to expect the home video release.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray releases will be available starting on Oct. 1. The DVD set will have a suggested retail price of $24.98 ($30.99 in Canada) and will include deleted scenes and a gag reel. The Blu-ray set will retail for $29.98 ($39.99 in Canada) and will include the same extras, but will additionally include a code to own a digital version of the season.
For those of you who just wish to pick it up digitally, it will be available on Aug. 26 and will only include the gag reel. No word on the pricing for this version as of yet.
Following the mysterious disappearance of their leader, Dr. Niles Caulder (“The Chief”), these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.
We thoroughly enjoyed Doom Patrol season 1, and we’ve got every finger in the office crossed in hopes of a season 2. If you haven’t subscribed to DC Universe, and have been the least bit curious about this series, we highly recommend picking this up when it hits shelves this fall.
