Greig Fraser joins The Batman as Cinematographer

LET ME IN

The Batman has officially found its cinematographer in Oscar-nominated Greig Fraser.

In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Fraser will be joining Matt Reeves on The Batman. The two previously worked together on the 2010 film Let Me In. He earned his Oscar nomination for Garth Davis’ Lion, and has also worked on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Zero Dark Thirty, Vice, Foxcatcher, Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming Dune.

“It’s great to be working with Matt again,” Fraser said in a statement. “The Batman franchise is iconic and its a privilege to now be able to visualize it in my own way. Especially with the cumulative creative potential of all the talent and technicians we have in front of and behind the camera.”

This news follows in the footsteps of reports from last week that Robert Richardson (Once Upon A Time in Hollywood) would be serving as cinematographer on The Batman. Those reports were later debunked by Richardson.

The Batman is due to begin filming in early 2020 with a release set for June 25, 2021.
