A new report indicates that John David Washington may be in talks for a role in The Batman, and it could mean he would be hanging around for some time.

According to The Geeks WorldWide – which has an excellent track record when it comes to casting news – Washington is currently being eyed for a role in Matt ReevesThe Batman. The potential character that has come up the most is that of Harvey Dent, but that isn’t set in stone.

If true, the rumor has been for some time that Reeves has a trilogy of films in mind and that we wouldn’t see Two-Face until later in the series. Seeing as he is one of the members of the Rogues Gallery with a more robust origin, this makes sense to build him up before the inevitable fall.

With six villains to cast, and presumably roles for Alfred and Commissioner Gordon, there will be a ton of casting announcements in the future. Things have been amazingly quiet since the announcement of Robert Pattinson as Batman with only one major rumor surfacing of Vanessa Kirby as Catwoman.

Washington appeared in Spike Lee’s BlackKklansman, receiving a Golden Globe nomination for his role, and is currently filming Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet. Which, as chance would have it, is where Robert Pattinson is also currently at work.

With filming due to begin in the early part of 2020, it is expected announcements surrounding this film will be coming rapidly through out the next few months. Stay tuned.
