Another day, another casting rumor for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. This time it’s the Penguin.

Rumors of potential actors for the various members of the Rogues Gallery are coming hot and fast over the last several days. The latest rumor comes from Full Circle Cinema and centers on Paul Walter Hauser being up for the role of the Penguin. Hauser is best known for the role of Shawn in I, Tonya and more recently as Ivanhoe in BlacKkKlansman.

Should this rumor pan out, it’s interesting as its reportedly the second actor being considered from the cast of BlacKkKlansman. Previously we have heard that John David Washington is under consideration for Harvey Dent.

It seems to be an endless rumor mill at the moment with Jamie Foxx and Giancarlo Esposito both being rumored as he Riddler, and Vanessa Kirby said to be under consideration as Catwoman. If even half of these turn out to be true, it does give us some insight into the look and feel that Matt Reeves is going for. It seems to be, for now, a mix of well-known people and actors who you recognize, but may not know their names quite yet.

That will all change if they get the parts.

Filming on The Batman is due to begin in the early part of 2020, it is expected announcements surrounding this film will be coming rapidly through out the next few months. Stay tuned.
